Departure from your hotel or Riad in Marrakech at 8:30 AM.
Drive south of Marrakech to reach the small town of Amezmiz, located 60 km away, then continue for another 4 km and stop at the village called Ameghrass.
Here you will meet a muleteer with a mule.
This is an assistance mule, carrying water and snacks such as fruits, dates, and dried fruits.
The hike begins towards the High Atlas Mountains, crossing traditional Berber villages and reaching a mountain pass before descending to a village nestled in the valley – the village of Tizgui. From there, a gentle ascent takes you through a small pine forest to reach a local family’s home, where you will enjoy lunch with them.
Walking duration: 4 hours.
After lunch, you will descend back to the village of Ameghrass, meet your minibus or 4×4 vehicle, and return to Marrakech via a different route. This road passes through olive groves and verbena fields, then continues to the village of Lalla Takerkoust near the lake before heading back to your hotel or Riad in Marrakech.
